Age Requirement

Be 18 years or older.

English Proficiency

Have a suitable level of written and spoken English for work in the Private Security Industry. English skills are checked through a Pre-Training Review during enrolment.

Course Structure

This course comprises of 14 units

CPPSEC2103 Apply WHS, emergency response and evacuation procedures to maintain security
CPPSEC2104 Apply risk assessment to select and carry out response to security risk situations
CPPSEC2113 Escort and protect persons and valuables
CPPSEC2106 Protect self and others using basic defensive techniques
CPPSEC2102 Apply legal and procedural requirements to work effectively within a security team
CPPSEC2101 Apply effective communication skills to maintain security
CPPSEC2105 Provide quality services to a range of security clients
CPPSEC2107 Patrol premises to monitor property and maintain security
CPPSEC2108 Screen people, personal effects and items to maintain security
CPPSEC2109 Monitor and control access and exit of persons and vehicles from premises
CPPSEC2110 Monitor and control individual and crowd behaviour to maintain security
CPPSEC2111 Apply security procedures to manage intoxicated persons

Assessment Marking System

Satisfactory (S) result: the student’s submitted work satisfies the learning requirements and all competency standards for the unit (in accordance with the National Register www.training.gov.au).
Not Yet Satisfactory (NYS) result: the student’s submitted work does not demonstrate their understanding of all competency standards in the unit. If a student receives a ‘not yet satisfactory’ outcome, he or she will receive written feedback from a trainer/assessor, clearly outlining where the gaps are. The student will then be required to rectify these gaps and re-submit their assessment for marking.

Once a student receives a satisfactory result for all required assessment tasks a competent (C) outcome will be awarded for the entire unit. The student must demonstrate their understanding of all competency standards in each unit before receiving a competent outcome.

National Recognition

These competency have been drawn from the nationally recognised industry training package the Property Services Training Package (CPP). Upon successful completion of the training and assessment, the qualification CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations will be issued. A Record of Results (or sometimes referred to as a transcript) listing all units of competency will also be issued along with the qualification certificate. The qualification and units of competency are nationally recognised and provide individuals with a valuable qualification that can be applied throughout Australia. GTA will issue a qualification within 30 days of the final assessment being completed

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Applicants can apply for recognition of their existing skills and knowledge that are relevant to the units of competency within the program. These skills and knowledge may have been obtained through workplace training or experience and may reduce the number of units required to be completed during the program.

Students are encouraged to notify GTA of their interest or intention to apply for RPL prior to their enrolment. We will provide you with a pre-training review questionnaire that gathers information about your prior experience. This information is then used to determine the best pathway for you to achieve competency.

Student Information

Detailed student information is provided in our Student Handbook, which is supplied with the enrolment package. This Booklet contains important information about a student’s rights and obligations, such as their right to privacy, a safe training environment, right to complaint or appeal an assessment decision, meeting course progress requirement and maintaining appropriate student behaviour. It is important that person applying for enrolment must have had reviewed this information first.

Award

On fulfilling the requirements, an AQF Qualification in CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations will be issued to learners within 30 days of completion of the qualification. Learners completing units but not completing the qualification will be issued with Statement of Attainment detailing the units that have been completed successfully.

Cooling Off Period

Students are eligible to cancel their enrolment by placing a formal notice of cancellation in writing to the CEO (Letter or email) within 10 business days of enrolment, without attracting a cancellation fee, unless the student has already commenced the training.

Assessment Requirements

Showing Competence in all assessment is a necessary part of this program to show that you have achieved the skills and knowledge set out in the competency standards. AISC will be conducting of realistic workplace tasks, project, knowledge tests, case studies, feedback from supervisors.

Unique Student Identifier

Each participant enrolling in a course will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number to obtain their certificate or qualification when studying nationally recognised training in Australia. A USI gives you access to your online USI account which will help keep all your training records together. Certificates and Statements of Attainment cannot be issued without this number.

If student has any complaint against AISC’s policies, procedure, staff, fellow students, assessments, marking or learning resources, they can obtain a complaint form, from the reception of the AISC, and submit as soon as possible for an early action
